The end of May and beginning of June always takes on a special look and feel for Movers and Shakers.  This is the time of the year when we create a Kid’s Camp experience on Sunday mornings that introduces kids to new songs, creative teaching in a unique setting through  drama and fine arts, and a variety of small group activities that foster fun and friendship.  It’s a great way to celebrate a year of learning in M&S!

PRAISE aims at giving God all praise!  Praising God for his greatness, authority, providence, power, and love are the big ideas being promoted over the next five weeks.  Each morning a special musical artist arrives looking for “Canada’s Got Talent”, setting the stage for the morning conversation.  Once engaged, kids will be directed to explore an attribute of God through the stories of the Old and New Testament.  To help get kids into God’s Story, children are encouraged to bring their own Bibles.  To dig deeper at home, look for cards which can point you to our website to download additional activities and conversation starters.  Together, we can bring the pages of God’s Story to life for kids from JK to Grade 5.

A couple of key projects on the go throughout the series include memorizing all of Psalm 8 in five weeks time (a big challenge for some I'm sure).  As well, all kids are encouraged to raise funds to support our sponsorship of Blanca, a young girl from Ecuador.  This is done through an organization called Compassion.  Our goal as M&S is to raise $600.00 in support of this young girl.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our kids to become difference makers in the lives of others.
