Did God really create the world in seven days? Did a talking snake tempt Adam and Eve? Did a senior citizen build a boat that held two of every animal for forty days? Did a man really survive three days in the belly of a fish? For centuries, the church has warred with science, for example, claiming the Bible as the only true source of knowledge and condemning those who dare to question. How can such close-mindedness lead to enlightenment? Have we put our faith in fairytales or is there more than just "the Bible tells me so"?

Gandhi is often quoted as having said, "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Unfortunately, our world is full of Christians who, despite their best intentions, misrepresent the heart of God with their words and actions. Have we become our own worst enemy? Might we be the very thing that is standing between Jesus and the world He loved enough to die for?
