On Tuesday, February 7th at 7:00pm at our Glenridge location we will host our third and final budget input meeting as we affirm our 2012 Operating Budget. This year's operating budget will be formally approved at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, February 12th; however, the budget development process is nearly finalized, and this meeting gives you the chance to be involved in the final stages.
You see, in our church history, we used to have all of our congregational discussions related to our operating budget in one shot at our AGM. But as our church grew, our budget grew along with it in both size and complexity, and so we began to find that it was just too much for people to walk into a meeting, review a 3 or 4 page budget, enter into discussion for a couple of hours, and try to vote on it right there on the spot. Instead, we found that we had to develop a series of meetings for church members that take particular interest in financial conversations to provide input and feedback into our church budget. This way, those for whom the term "budget meeting" is synonymous with dental work don't have to be overly exposed to the discussion, while those who are passionate about financial conversations can be as intensively involved in the pocess as they wish.
